作为北京798双年展的一部分，马丁维默尔（Martin Wehmer），这位生活在北京的德国艺术家从德语世界带来了一系列抽象概念的画作。这些作品是艺术家研究探索绘画作为一种艺术形式的论题性收藏。“这个展览是关于系统的。” 维默尔解释说。这次展览的灵感来源于德国社会学家尼克拉斯鲁曼（NiklasLuhmann）,他相信社会是由独立的自我系统组成的。每个艺术家都在一个系统中创作，而艺术家为ANNEXE/INFIX展览挑选的作品将不同的系统结合到了一起，并创作做出新的东西。展览本身体现的是它自己的系统，而这其中又涵盖了艺术家对于双年展这个系统的立场和评论。这个展览同样拉近了“旧”的西方艺术和“新”的中国艺术系统之间的距离。

之所以给展览取名ANNEXE/INFIX，维默尔主要是想对绘画和中国社会做出一番讨论。抽象主义在西方艺术中有着长久的历史，尤其是20世纪中期的美国，艺术家把绘画作为一种工具。上个世纪60年代，二阶艺术发展起来，介绍了用已经存在的元素创作，在某种意义上这是一种艺术上的超越。

中国当代艺术家尝试着从外面审视，创作新现实主义风格。80年代以前，一些中国的国画家和书法家开始玩起了抽象，但是很快，他们的注意力便转向了波普艺术和现实主义。而此时，西方绘画的发展正在逐渐的进入反省的状态。

露西亚•黛尼芬特（1965年生于德国，现居慕尼黑）她的作品从社会调查角度出发，在绘画作品创作过程中，她包含这样一种声明，套用这句话非常恰当，“如何真正的现实？”

Lucia Dellefant (born 1965 in Germany, lives and works in Munich) starts her work with a
social research. In carrying out the paintings,she includes statements—in this case, very
appropriately, "How real is reality?"

汉斯乔治•道比利亚 (1970年生于德国,现居住工作在柏林和慕尼黑)他一直进行着现代技术和抽象艺术的试验，作为艺术家，他的作品总带有极强烈的风格。

Hansjoerg Dobliar (born 1970 in Germany, lives and works in Berlin and Munich)
experiments with the techniques of Modernism and abstraction, often making obvious
the work he''s done as an artist.

Sven Drühl (born 1968 in Germany, lives and works in Berlin) makes works that
reinterpret and investigate classic and contemporary paintings. Using lacquer and silicone
to create his canvases, Drühl''s paintings are infuenced by his immersion in the club and
music scenes, in which DJs sample and remix works of other artists.

托马斯•费希尔（1964年生于法国，现居柏林）他作品的显著特征是取材于日常生活，比如像广告，涂抹颜料的不同方法以及为“慧鱼”配音的过程。（“慧鱼”是一种德国流行的玩具品牌）。

Thomas Fischer (born 1964 in Germany) lives and works in Berlin. His works feature items
he fnds in everyday life, pieces of advertisements, and different methods of applying
paint, a process he''s dubbed "Fischertechnik" (that''s also a popular brand of German toys,
like Logos)

汉斯皮特•霍夫曼　（1960年生于瑞士，现居巴塞尔），他常像一个化学研究者一般去取材他的背景生活，起先像用巨大的显微镜去表现背景让人产生想象，但之后他又用一些非常真实的事物去打破常规的抽象概念，比如一个粘胶剂或一张巴黎希尔顿饭店的照片。

Hanspeter Hofmann (born 1960 in Switzerland, lives and works in Basel) often his
background as a chemical researcher, producing images that at frst look like enlarged
microscope slides. But then he breaches the formal abstraction with something very
realistic, such as a sticker or a photograph of Paris Hilton.

Martin Kasper (born 1962 in Germany, lives and works in Freiburg) often makes paintings
of his own exhibitions. But the works are more than just a play with mirrors and space—
he uses them to research his position as an artist. For ANNEXE/INFIX, he is creating
original paintings based on the SZ Art Center.

Bertold Mathes (born 1957 in Germany) lives and works in Berlin. His paintings are
experiments with color and composition. Regarding his subject matter, his works "shift
the focus of questioning from ''what'' to ''how,''" wrote Hans-Jürgen Hafner. His work has
recently been exhibited in Berlin, Paris, New York, and Amsterdam.

毛旭辉（1956年生于中国）1982年毕业于云南艺术学院，90年代开始关注油画创作，而在此之前，很多年间他一直绘制电影宣传海报。
Huixu Mao (born 1956 in China) graduated from the Yunnan Art Academy in 1982 and
spent many years painting promotional posters for movies before focusing his attention
on oil paintings in the 1990s.

李奇安（1966生于中国湖南，现生活工作于北京）他给人的第一印象是一个地道的山水风景画家，但他处理光影的方法某种程度上又让人联想到17世纪欧洲的风景画。观者被间接的强迫接受各种绘画技法的独特融合。他的绘画游弋于中国传统山水和风景画的新形式之间。
Qian Li (born 1966 in Hunan, China, live and works in Beijing) comes across as a genuine
artist of landscape paintings, but in his approach he introduces light streaks in a way
reminiscent of European 17th-century landscape paintings. The viewer is indirectly forced
to see a peculiar blend of a painting about making landscape paintings. His paintings
fuctuate between traditional Chinese and a new model for landscapes.

丹尼尔•塞琳娜(1960年生于法国,现居斯特拉斯堡)是这次展览中唯一的法国画家，利用拼贴手法将类似领带这类工作生活用品拼贴创作了超现实主义油画。她总会花几个月甚至几年的时间围绕同一主题进行系列创作。

Daniel Schlier (born 1960 in France, lives and works in Strasbourg), the sole French
painter in the exhibition, uses collage and employs everyday items like neckties to create
Surrealist canvases. He often creates series based on the same subject over several
months or even years.

SEO(1977年生于韩国,01年离开汉城,现居柏林) 他从传统艺术中提取元素，然后用纸张将这些元素重新创造出具有象征性和超现实的效果。她的作品融合了亚洲传统绘画元素及其曾受德国艺术影响的样式。
SEO (born 1977 in Korea, left Seoul in 2001 and now lives and works in Berlin) takes
elements from art history and recreates them out of old pieces of paper for a stylized,
super-realistic effect. Her works combine elements of traditional Asian painting with
styles infuenced by German art.

苏羽涵（1982年生于中国，现居北京）2004年毕业于广州美术学院美术学专业，她最近的作品展是于2008年在北京墙美术馆的“形无形第2回展”，她之所以入选是因其作品透露出的活力，色彩敏感度及其“美好的自我满足感”。
Yuhan Su (born 1982 in China) graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in
2004 and now works in Beijing. Her most recent exhibition was "Visible invisible II" at
Beijing''s Wall Museum in 2008. She was selected for her energy, sensitivity to color, and
"good feeling for what is enough".

克劳斯马丁•特里得(1961年生于德国,现居柏林)在作品中他关注时尚、动漫领域，尝试将抽象的概念、时尚与设计紧密的结合起来。他的绘画将广告元素、标志、动漫与传统绘画形式相融合。

Klausmartin Treder (born 1961 in Germany, lives and works in Berlin) looks to the fashion
and comic worlds in his works, proving that abstraction, fashion, and design are all very
close together. His paintings combine elements of advertising, logos, and comics with
more traditional painting styles.

Martin Wehmer (born 1966 in Germany) works in Beijing as a painter and curator. His
curatorial projects include Kunstraum Alter Wiehrebahnhof (Freiburg, Germany), E-Werk
Hallen für Kunst (Künstlerforum EWERK) (Freiburg, Germany), "The birth of installation" (Werkstatt Wehmer/Matthiessen GbR), and "Die Kulturpolitik ist zur Höchstgestalt des Nihilismus geworden" (Werkstatt Wehmer/Matthiessen GbR) (Jackson Pollock Bar, Freiburg, Germany).

袁顺（1961生于中国上海，现居住和工作在柏林和北京）他常游离于两个国家，过去，经常在德国，现在则常常回国。一路走来，他也回归到最本位形式的探索，即水墨纸本，在他的作品中也能发现中国古老的学问，但他也设定“大陆歧视制度的废除”使中国和美国有望成为“中美共同体”
Yuan Shen (born 1961 in Shanghai, China) lives and works in Berlin and Beijing. He moves
between two worlds, having lived for a long time in Germany and now coming back to
China. Along the way, he has returned to an authentic form, namely Chinese ink on
paper. Reference to old Chinese knowledge can be found in the work, but he manages
the"continental desegregation" from China and America to "Chimerica."
